I have studied historic costume and textiles and Renaissance music for a number of years, specializing particularly in 16th century costume and music.

I have presented papers at the International Congress of Medieval Studies, International Medieval Congress, The Medieval Forum and other medieval conferences, and lectured for several re-enactment groups on the topic of Renaissance dress. I am also a teacher at The Costume Classroom.

I have recently published a book, The Well-Dress'd Peasant: 16th Century Workingwoman's Dress. I have published articles in Renaissance magazine, Medieval Textiles and Clothing, and other periodicals on various topics relating to historic costume. I have several articles online at my websites, The Elizabethan Costume Page and The Dye Woorkes.

My current areas of interest include sixteenth and seventeenth century masque and revels costume, transcribing and translating 16th century wardrobe accounts and tailor's bills, the 16th century tailoring industry and the Renaissance dyeing industry.

I currently live in Springfield, OH, where I work as a software engineer to support my research and costume book-collecting habits.
